It is one of the incorporated municipalities in California that uses “town” in its name instead of “city”.  The two zip codes for Danville are 94526 and 94506 (Blackhawk-Camino Tassajara area).

Danville CA

Every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, all year round Danville hosts a farmer’s market. For many people this is a weekly ritual. The merchants sell all sorts of items from fruits, vegetables, baked goods, olive oils and other seasonal goodies, as well as fresh flowers. There is typically some type of music playing to entertain those who linger to chat with friends and neighbors. The best part is the samples, especially for me when the peaches are in season – one of my favorite fruits.

The “Iron Horse Regional Trail” is another big attraction for runners, walkers, bikers, and skateboarders. The train runs from Dublin (south of Danville) to Concord (north of Danville). On the weekends the trail is quite busy as many locals like the accessibility away from traffic. Because the downtown is unique with lots of shops and restaurants it is a fun place to hang out and you will find the restaurants very busy most weekend mornings serving the breakfast crowd.

The evenings are just as lively with the restaurants serving a variety of foods to please almost everyone. If you find you have to wait a bit for your table at any of the restaurants, make your way over to one of the many wine bars. The downtown is brightly lit so it is easy to go for a stroll in the evenings and window shop.

There are many annual events – July 4th parade Art & Wine festivals, Christmas tree lighting – just to name a few
